Description

A comforting and flavorful dish featuring seared salmon in a rich garlic cream sauce, perfect for any dinner occasion.

Ingredients

  • 4 salmon fillets (about 6 oz each)
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 5 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
  • Lemon wedges, for serving

Instructions

  1. Season the salmon fillets generously with salt and pepper.
  2. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add olive oil and warm until shimmering.
  3. Place the salmon fillets flesh side down in the skillet and sear for 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  4. Remove the salmon from the skillet and set aside, keeping warm.
  5. Reduce the heat to medium and add unsalted butter to the same skillet.
  6. Once the butter melts, add the minced garlic and sauté briefly until fragrant.
  7. Pour in heavy cream and chicken broth, stirring to combine, and allow to simmer for a few minutes until slightly thickened.
  8. Add Dijon mustard and lemon juice, stirring to combine.
  9. Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese and adjust seasoning with salt and pepper to taste.
  10. Return the salmon to the skillet, spooning sauce over the top, and heat through for about two minutes.
  11. Garnish with chopped parsley and serve immediately with lemon wedges.

Notes

For a lighter version, reduce the heavy cream and increase the chicken broth. Experiment with adding veggies like spinach or tomatoes for extra flavor.
