A comforting and flavorful dish featuring seared salmon in a rich garlic cream sauce, perfect for any dinner occasion.
Ingredients
- 4 salmon fillets (about 6 oz each)
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 5 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup chicken broth
- 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
- Lemon wedges, for serving
Instructions
- Season the salmon fillets generously with salt and pepper.
- In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add olive oil and warm until shimmering.
- Place the salmon fillets flesh side down in the skillet and sear for 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown.
- Remove the salmon from the skillet and set aside, keeping warm.
- Reduce the heat to medium and add unsalted butter to the same skillet.
- Once the butter melts, add the minced garlic and sauté briefly until fragrant.
- Pour in heavy cream and chicken broth, stirring to combine, and allow to simmer for a few minutes until slightly thickened.
- Add Dijon mustard and lemon juice, stirring to combine.
- Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese and adjust seasoning with salt and pepper to taste.
- Return the salmon to the skillet, spooning sauce over the top, and heat through for about two minutes.
- Garnish with chopped parsley and serve immediately with lemon wedges.
Notes
For a lighter version, reduce the heavy cream and increase the chicken broth. Experiment with adding veggies like spinach or tomatoes for extra flavor.
