Description
A comforting one-pan meal featuring succulent shrimp in a creamy garlic butter sauce served over rice.
Ingredients
- 1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 2 tbsp butter, divided
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp paprika
- 1/2 cup heavy cream or half-and-half
- 1/3 cup parmesan, freshly grated
- 1 tsp lemon juice (optional)
- 2 cups cooked rice (white, brown, or cauliflower)
- Fresh parsley or green onion for garnish
Instructions
- Start by seasoning the shrimp with salt, pepper, and paprika.
- Sear the shrimp in one tablespoon of butter over medium-high heat, cooking until they turn pink, about 2-3 minutes on each side. Remove the shrimp from the skillet.
- Lower the heat and add the remaining butter and garlic to the skillet. Sauté for one minute until fragrant.
- Stir in the cream, freshly grated parmesan, and lemon juice (if using). Simmer until the mixture thickens slightly.
- Return the shrimp to the pan and toss them in the sauce. Cook for an additional 1-2 minutes.
- Serve the shrimp and sauce over warm rice, garnishing with fresh parsley or green onion.
Notes
For a creamier sauce, let it simmer longer before adding the shrimp. Adjust seasoning and incorporate veggies for added flavor.
