Description
A quick and comforting one-pan meal featuring shrimp sautéed in a rich garlic butter sauce, served over warm rice.
Ingredients
- 1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 2 tbsp butter, divided
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp paprika
- 1/2 cup heavy cream or half-and-half
- 1/3 cup parmesan cheese, freshly grated
- 1 tsp lemon juice (optional)
- 2 cups cooked rice (white, brown, or cauliflower)
- Fresh parsley or green onion, for garnish
Instructions
- Season the shrimp with salt, black pepper, and paprika in a bowl, tossing to coat evenly.
- Heat 1 tablespoon of butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the seasoned shrimp and cook for 2–3 minutes per side until pink. Remove and set aside.
- Lower the heat, add the remaining butter, and sauté the minced garlic for about 1 minute.
- Stir in the heavy cream and grated parmesan cheese, simmer for about 2–3 minutes until thickened.
- Return the shrimp to the skillet, tossing to coat in the sauce for an additional 1–2 minutes.
- Serve over warm rice, garnished with fresh parsley or green onion.
Notes
Use fresh garlic for best flavor and adjust seasonings to your taste. For a vegan option, substitute heavy cream with coconut cream and parmesan with nutritional yeast.
