A comforting and rich seafood bisque featuring fresh crab and shrimp in a luscious creamy broth.
Ingredients
- 1 lb crab meat
- 1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 4 cups seafood stock
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup butter
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Chopped fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Melt the butter over medium heat in a large pot.
- Add the chopped onion and minced garlic, sautéing until soft and translucent.
- Pour in the seafood stock and bring the mixture to a simmer.
- Stir in the crab meat and shrimp, cooking until the shrimp turn pink, about 5-7 minutes.
- Reduce the heat and add the heavy cream, mixing well.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Use an immersion blender to blend until smooth, or leave it chunky according to your preference.
- Serve hot, garnished with chopped parsley.
Notes
For extra freshness, consider using homemade seafood stock. Adjust seasoning as necessary throughout the cooking process.
