Description
A comforting and rich seafood bisque featuring crab and shrimp, perfect for evoking coastal dining memories.
Ingredients
- 1 lb crab meat
- 1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 4 cups seafood stock
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 teaspoon Old Bay seasoning
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Chopped parsley for garnish
Instructions
- In a large pot, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and garlic, and sauté until the onion is translucent.
- Stir in the seafood stock and bring to a simmer.
- Add the crab meat and shrimp, and cook for about 5-7 minutes until the shrimp are pink and cooked through.
- Reduce the heat and stir in the heavy cream and Old Bay seasoning. Cook for an additional 5 minutes, but do not let it boil.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Remove from heat and ladle into bowls. Garnish with chopped parsley before serving.
Notes
For a brighter flavor, consider adding a splash of lemon juice or zest. Use fresh seafood for the best taste.
