- 1 pound (450 g) imitation crab meat
- 1 cup (240 ml) coconut milk
- 1/2 teaspoon (3 ml) salt
- 1/4 teaspoon (1 ml) black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon (1 ml) cayenne pepper
- 2 tablespoons (8 g) fresh dill, chopped
- 1 tablespoon (15 ml) lemon juice
Instructions
- Heat olive oil and butter in a large pot over medium heat.
- Add the finely chopped onion and sauté until translucent, about 5 minutes.
- Stir in the minced garlic and cook for 1 minute, until fragrant.
- Sprinkle the all-purpose flour over the onion and garlic, stirring constantly for 2 minutes.
- Gradually whisk in the seafood or vegetable broth, ensuring no lumps form.
- Bring the mixture to a simmer and cook for 10 minutes, allowing it to thicken.
- Add the lump crab meat to the pot and gently stir to combine.
- Pour in the whole milk and heavy cream, stirring continuously.
- Season the bisque with salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper.
- Allow the bisque to simmer for another 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
