Description

A rich and comforting bisque filled with crab meat and shrimp, perfect for gatherings and chilly evenings.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup crab meat
  • 1 cup shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 4 cups seafood stock
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Chopped parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Melt the butter in a large pot over medium heat.
  2. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic, and sauté until the onion is translucent.
  3. Stir in the flour and cook for about 1 minute until it’s well combined.
  4. Gradually add the seafood stock, stirring continuously until the mixture is smooth.
  5. Bring to a simmer and let it cook for about 10 minutes.
  6. Add the crab meat and shrimp, then pour in the heavy cream and milk. Stir to combine.
  7. Add Worcestershire sauce, and season with salt and pepper.
  8. Let the bisque simmer for another 5-7 minutes until the shrimp are cooked through.
  9. Serve hot, garnished with chopped parsley.

Notes

Use fresh seafood for the best flavor. Adjust thickness by simmering longer or adding more seafood stock.
