Ingredients
- – 1 round white bread loaf (1 loaf / 450g)
- – 2 tablespoons olive oil (30 ml)
- – 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder (2.5 ml)
- – 1/4 teaspoon onion powder (1.25 ml)
- – 1/4 teaspoon ground paprika (1.25 ml)
- – 2 tablespoons vegetable oil (30 ml)
- – 1 (10-oz) package frozen spinach, thawed, chopped and excess liquid squeezed (280 g)
- – 2 (14-oz) cans artichoke hearts, drained & chopped (400 g)
- – 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning (2.5 ml)
- – 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder (2.5 ml)
- – 1/4 teaspoon onion powder (1.25 ml)
- – 2 (8-oz) packages cream cheese (450 g)
- – 1/2 cup shredded beef mozzarella, plus more for topping (60 g)
- – 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese (50 g)
- – 1/2 cup plain yogurt (120 ml)
Instructions
- **Prepare Bread Bowl:**
- Preheat your oven to 350°F. Scoop out the center of the bread loaf, and cut the removed portion into cubes. Drizzle these cubes with olive oil and sprinkle with garlic powder, onion powder, and ground paprika. Also, brush the inside of the hollowed bread with oil and season it. Place everything in the oven and bake for 20 minutes.
- **Prepare Dip:**
- Heat vegetable oil in a large pan. Add the spinach, artichoke hearts, and Italian seasoning, garlic powder, and onion powder. Cook until any remaining moisture evaporates. Mix in the cream cheese, shredded beef mozzarella, and grated Parmesan until they melt, then remove from heat and stir in the plain yogurt.
- **Bake:**
- Spoon the dip into the prepared bread bowl. Sprinkle some additional mozzarella on top and bake for 10-15 minutes until the cheese is bubbly. Serve at once with the toasted bread cubes and vegetable sticks for dipping.
Notes
- Ensure to thoroughly press out excess liquid from thawed spinach to prevent the dip from becoming watery.
- Experiment with different cheese varieties for a unique flavor, like sharp cheddar or Gruyere instead of mozzarella.
- For a healthier alternative, substitute cream cheese with Greek yogurt or a light cream cheese option.
