Ingredients
- 7 ounces (198 g) crabmeat
- 5 green onions, thinly sliced
- 1/4 teaspoon (1 ml) dried thyme
- 1/4 teaspoon (1 ml) dried oregano
- 1/4 teaspoon (1 ml) ground savory
- ground black pepper to taste
- 1/4 cup (60 ml) grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/3 cup (80 ml) mayonnaise
- 1 pound (454 g) beef mushrooms
- 3 tablespoons (45 ml) grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/4 teaspoon (1 ml) paprika
Instructions
- Ensure you have all the necessary items and set your oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
- In a medium-sized bowl, blend together the crabmeat, green onions, thyme, oregano, savory, and black pepper. Stir in the mayonnaise and 1/4 cup of Parmesan cheese until the mixture is smooth. Chill the mixture until it’s time to use it.
- Clean the mushrooms with a damp cloth. Remove the stems, then scoop out the gills and stem bases to create deep hollows. Discard the gills and stems.
- Fill each mushroom cap with heaping teaspoonfuls of the prepared mixture and arrange them in a shallow baking dish without greasing it. Sprinkle the tops with Parmesan cheese and paprika.
- Place the mushrooms in the oven and cook them until they are thoroughly heated, roughly 15 minutes.
- Serve immediately while hot. Enjoy your dish!
Notes
- Thoroughly clean mushrooms by removing gills and stems to make space for filling.
- Chill crabmeat mixture before filling mushrooms for better shape retention when baked.
- Sprinkle filled mushroom caps generously with Parmesan cheese and paprika for enhanced flavor before baking.
