Description

A creamy, rich bisque that combines crab and shrimp, bringing a taste of the coast to your kitchen.


Ingredients

  • 4 tablespoons of butter
  • ⅓ cup of chopped celery
  • ⅓ cup of chopped green onions
  • 1½ cups of heavy whipping cream
  • 2 cups of whole milk
  • 3 tablespoons of flour
  • 1 tablespoon of tomato paste
  • 8 ounces of cooked shrimp cut into pieces
  • 8 ounces of crab meat
  • 1 teaspoon of Old Bay seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste


Instructions

  1. Melt the butter in a saucepan over medium heat.
  2. Add the chopped celery and green onions and sauté until they begin to soften.
  3. Stir in the flour and sauté for another minute.
  4. Pour in the warmed milk and whisk until no lumps remain.
  5. Introduce the heavy whipping cream along with the tomato paste, Old Bay seasoning, salt, and pepper.
  6. Bring the mixture to a low simmer to thicken into a bisque.
  7. Gently stir in the cooked shrimp and crab meat, letting them heat through.
  8. Serve hot, garnished with fresh parsley.
