Description
A rich, creamy bisque made with tender crab meat, shrimp, and scallops, infused with garlic and thyme for a luxurious seafood experience.
Ingredients
- 1 lb crab meat
- 1 lb mixed seafood (shrimp, scallops, etc.)
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 cups fish stock
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/4 cup sherry (optional)
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1 tsp thyme
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Chopped parsley for garnish
Instructions
- In a large pot, melt the butter over medium heat.
- Add the chopped onion and minced garlic, and sauté until softened.
- Stir in the crab meat and mixed seafood, cooking for a few minutes until the seafood is just cooked.
- Pour in the fish stock and bring to a simmer.
- Add thyme, salt, and pepper. Let it simmer for about 10 minutes.
- Stir in the heavy cream and sherry, if using, and cook for an additional 5 minutes.
- Adjust seasoning if needed.
- Serve hot, garnished with chopped parsley.
Notes
For a lighter version, substitute heavy cream with half-and-half or a plant-based alternative. Ensure not to overcook seafood to maintain tenderness.
