Description

A refreshing crab salad featuring imitation crab meat and a creamy dressing with fresh vegetables, perfect for summer gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound imitation crab meat (crab flakes or crab legs)
  • ⅓ cup mayonnaise
  • ¼ cup sour cream
  • ½ cup celery (finely diced)
  • 3 tablespoons red onion (finely diced)
  • 2 tablespoons chives (finely diced)
  • ½ teaspoon Old Bay Seasoning
  • ½ teaspoon dill weed
  • ⅕ teaspoon celery salt (optional)

Instructions

  1. Begin by shredding the imitation crab meat into bite-sized pieces. Transfer the shredded crab into a large mixing bowl.
  2. Add the finely diced celery, red onion, and chives to the bowl with the crab meat. Gently mix until all vegetables are evenly distributed.
  3. In a separate small bowl, combine the mayonnaise, sour cream, dill, Old Bay seasoning, and if desired, celery salt. This dressing will complement the crab salad beautifully.
  4. Pour the mayonnaise dressing over the crab mixture and mix until all ingredients are well incorporated.
  5. Although you can serve this immediately, chilling it for an hour or more brings out the flavors and enhances the dish.

Notes

Serve chilled and consider adding lemon zest for extra flavor. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to two days.
