Description
Crispy wontons filled with a creamy mixture of crab and cream cheese, perfect for appetizers and gatherings.
Ingredients
- 16 oz cream cheese (softened)
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2 oz imitation crab (diced)
- 12 oz wonton wraps
- 2 cups oil for frying (soybean, canola, or vegetable)
- 2 sprigs of scallions (sliced)
Instructions
- Combine the softened cream cheese and powdered sugar in a large mixing bowl until smooth.
- Fold in the diced imitation crab and sliced scallions gently.
- Take a wonton wrapper and place about a teaspoon of the filling in the center.
- Wet the edges of the wrapper with water to seal it.
- Fold the wrapper over the filling to create a triangle and pinch the edges to seal.
- Heat oil in a deep frying pan until it reaches about 350°F.
- Carefully drop a few Crab Rangoon into the hot oil and fry until golden brown, about 3–4 minutes.
- Remove from the oil and place on a plate lined with paper towels.
Notes
Ensure the cream cheese is fully softened for easy mixing. Fry in small batches for even cooking.
