Ingredients
- 4 oz (113 g) crab meat
- 6 oz (170 g) shrimp
- 1 tablespoon (15 ml) olive oil
- 1 large red pepper roughly chopped
- 1 medium onion roughly chopped
- 1 tablespoon (15 ml) garlic minced
- 8 oz (227 g) tomato sauce
- 1 tablespoon (15 ml) hot sauce
- 1 tablespoon (15 ml) Old Bay
- 2 cup (480 ml) s cream
- 1/3 cup (80 ml) Parmesan cheese grated
- 1 teaspoon (5 ml) chives chopped
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Carefully inspect the crab meat to ensure there are no shell fragments. Detach the tails and legs from the shrimp, and remove the vein.
- Heat olive oil in a medium-sized saucepan over medium-high heat. Add the chopped red pepper and onion, cooking for 5-7 minutes until they become tender. Incorporate the minced garlic and cook for an additional minute.
- Mix in the tomato sauce, hot sauce, Old Bay seasoning, and cream. Stir the mixture until it is well-blended, then add the crab meat and shrimp. Allow the mixture to reach a boil, then lower the heat to let it simmer.
- Move the bisque to a food processor or a powerful blender and blend until it reaches a smooth consistency.
- Serve the bisque in a bowl, sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese on top, and finish with a garnish of chopped chives. Adjust seasoning with salt and pepper according to your preference.
