Ingredients

  • Brie cheese, 4 ounce s (115 g)
  • Cream cheese, 2 ounce s (55 g)

  • Lemon juice, 1 tablespoon (15 ml)
  • Salt, 1/2 teaspoon (2.5 g)
  • Black pepper, 1/4 teaspoon (1.25 g)
  • Thick slices of bread, 4 slices
  • Eggs, 4 large
  • Milk, 1/2 cup (120 ml)
  • Butter, 2 tablespoon s (30 g)
  • Turkey bacon, 6 slices
  • Maple syrup, 1/2 cup (120 ml)
  • Brown sugar, 1 tablespoon (12 g)


Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine crabmeat, Brie cheese, and cream cheese.
  2. Add green onions, lemon juice, salt, and black pepper to the crab mixture.
  3. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly combined.
  4. Cut a pocket into each slice of bread without cutting through to the other side.
  5. Stuff each bread pocket with the crab and cheese mixture.
  6. In a shallow dish, whisk together eggs and milk.
  7. Dip each stuffed bread slice into the egg mixture, coating both sides.
  8. Heat a skillet over medium heat and add 1 tablespoon of butter.
  9. Cook each stuffed bread slice in the skillet until golden brown on both sides.
  10. In a separate skillet, cook turkey bacon until crispy.
  11. Remove bacon from the skillet and set aside.
  12. In the same skillet, add maple syrup and brown sugar.
  13. Stir the mixture over low heat until the sugar dissolves.
  14. Add the cooked turkey bacon to the syrup mixture and coat well.
  15. Serve the crab and brie stuffed French toast with the maple bacon glaze drizzled on top.
