Description

A quick and nutritious cottage cheese tuna salad that’s perfect for lunch or light dinner, combining creamy cottage cheese with tuna and crunchy vegetables.

Ingredients

  • 3 (5 oz) cans of white albacore tuna, drained well
  • 1/3-1/2 cup cottage cheese
  • 1 stalk celery, minced
  • 3 tbsp red onion, minced
  • 2-3 tbsp dill pickles or sweet pickles, minced
  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • 1 garlic clove, finely minced or microplaned
  • 2 tbsp fresh herbs (chives, parsley, or dill)
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • Hot sauce (optional, to taste)

Instructions

  1. Blend the cottage cheese using a blender or immersion blender until smooth and creamy.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine the drained tuna, blended cottage cheese, minced celery, red onion, pickles, Dijon mustard, lemon juice, garlic, fresh herbs, salt, and pepper.
  3. Add hot sauce to taste, if desired.
  4. Mix thoroughly to ensure everything is well incorporated. Adjust seasoning as needed and serve.

Notes

Chill the ingredients to enjoy a refreshingly cool salad. Allow the salad to sit in the fridge for about an hour before serving to meld the flavors.
