A classic dish that combines fresh shrimp, garlic, and lemon, elevating weeknight dinners with restaurant-quality flavors.
Ingredients
- 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 8 ounces pasta (linguine or spaghetti)
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 3 tablespoons olive oil
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- Juice of 1 lemon
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
Instructions
- Cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil and 2 tablespoons of butter over medium heat.
- Add the garlic and red pepper flakes, and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
- Add the shrimp to the skillet, season with salt and pepper, and cook until they turn pink, about 2-3 minutes per side.
- Stir in the lemon juice and the remaining butter until melted.
- Add the cooked pasta to the skillet and toss to coat it in the sauce.
- Garnish with fresh parsley and serve with grated Parmesan cheese, if desired.
Notes
When selecting shrimp, choose ones that are firm and smell clean. Reserve some pasta water to adjust the sauce consistency if needed.
