Transform simple salmon filets into a tantalizing delight with a medley of spices and aromatic zest.
Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons turbinado sugar
- 1 ½ teaspoons sea salt
- 1 teaspoon black peppercorns
- 1 teaspoon dill weed
- ½ tablespoon coriander seeds
- ½ teaspoon celery seeds
- ½ teaspoon cumin
- ½ teaspoon fennel seeds
- 1 teaspoon orange zest
- 6 salmon filets
- 1-2 tablespoons olive oil
- Cedar planks (soaked in water for 2 hours)
Instructions
- Combine turbinado sugar, sea salt, black peppercorns, dill weed, coriander seeds, celery seeds, cumin, fennel seeds, and orange zest in a bowl.
- Mix thoroughly until well blended.
- Rub the olive oil evenly over each salmon filet, followed by generously applying the spice mixture on both sides.
- Preheat your grill over medium heat.
- Place the soaked cedar planks on the grill grates and close the lid.
- Allow the planks to heat for about 5 minutes until they start to smoke.
- Carefully place the salmon filets onto the cedar planks.
- Close the lid and allow the salmon to cook for about 12-15 minutes, or until it flakes easily with a fork.
Notes
For enhanced flavor, consider adding a splash of fresh citrus juice before serving. Experiment with different types of fish or adjust spice ratios to suit your taste.
