Description

Delicious shrimp tacos with a zesty lime flavor and a creamy slaw, perfect for summer gatherings and weeknight dinners.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb wild-caught shrimp
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 teaspoon lime zest
  • 2 tablespoons lime juice
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • ½ bunch cilantro, finely chopped
  • 3 cups finely shredded green cabbage
  • ½ cup Greek yogurt
  • 2 tablespoons lime juice (from 1 lime)
  • 1 avocado, sliced
  • 8 6-inch tortillas (corn or flour)
  • Extra lime wedges, for serving

Instructions

  1. Season the shrimp with salt, black pepper, smoked paprika, garlic powder, and chili powder in a bowl. Toss well to coat.
  2. Heat the olive oil and butter in a skillet over medium-high heat. Once the butter melts and bubbles, add the seasoned shrimp.
  3. Cook for about 2-3 minutes on each side until the shrimp turn pink and opaque. Remove from heat.
  4. Mix the lime zest, lime juice, honey, and chopped cilantro in a separate bowl.
  5. Toss this mixture with the shredded cabbage and Greek yogurt to create a creamy slaw.
  6. Assemble by spooning some creamy slaw onto a tortilla. Top it with a few shrimp and a slice of avocado.
  7. Serve with extra lime wedges on the side.

Notes

Let the shrimp marinate for 15-30 minutes for maximum flavor. Consider adding toppings like sliced jalapeños or pickled red onions for an extra kick.
