Ingredients

  • 1 pound (454 g) large prawns, peeled and deveined (450 grams)
  • 2 tablespoons (30 ml) vegetable oil (30 milliliters)
  • 1 teaspoon (5 ml) salt (5 grams)
  • 1 teaspoon (5 ml) ground white pepper (5 grams)
  • 1 teaspoon (5 ml) ground black pepper (5 grams)
  • 2 tablespoons (30 ml) cornstarch (16 grams)
  • 1 tablespoon (15 ml) garlic, minced (8 grams)
  • 1 tablespoon (15 ml) ginger, minced (8 grams)
  • 1-2 red chili peppers, sliced
  • 4 green onions, sliced
  • 1 tablespoon (15 ml) soy sauce (15 milliliters)
  • 1 teaspoon (5 ml) sesame oil (5 milliliters)


Instructions

  1. Pat dry the prawns with paper towels to remove excess moisture.
  2. In a bowl, combine prawns with salt, ground white pepper, ground black pepper, and cornstarch. Mix well.
  3. Heat vegetable oil in a large pan or wok over medium-high heat.
  4. Add the coated prawns to the pan in a single layer without crowding.
  5. Stir-fry the prawns for 2-3 minutes until they turn pink and opaque. Remove and set aside.
  6. In the same pan, add minced garlic and ginger. Stir-fry for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  7. Add the sliced red chili peppers and continue stirring for another 30 seconds.
  8. Return the prawns to the pan and toss to combine with the garlic, ginger, and chili.
  9. Add the sliced green onions and stir-fry for 1 minute.
  10. Drizzle soy sauce and sesame oil over the prawns and stir well to coat.
  11. Cook for an additional 1-2 minutes until everything is well combined and heated through.
  12. Remove from heat and serve immediately.
