Ingredients

  • 1 pound (450 g) shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 4 cups (950 ml) beef broth
  • 2 tablespoons (30 ml) chili oil
  • 2 tablespoons (30 ml) soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon (15 ml) sesame oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 inch (2.5 cm) piece ginger, grated
  • 2 packs ramen noodles
  • 1 cup (150 g) bean sprouts
  • 2 green onions, sliced
  • 1 cup (150 g) sliced mushrooms
  • 1 cup (150 g) baby spinach
  • Salt, to taste
  • Pepper, to taste


Instructions

  1. Heat a large pot over medium heat and add the sesame oil.
  2. Add the minced garlic and grated ginger to the pot, sauté for 1 minute.
  3. Add the sliced mushrooms and cook until they begin to soften, about 3 minutes.
  4. Pour in the chicken broth and bring to a gentle simmer.
  5. Stir in the soy sauce and chili oil, mixing well.
  6. Season the broth with salt and pepper to taste.
  7. Add the prawns to the broth and cook until they turn pink, about 3-4 minutes.
  8. Remove the prawns from the pot and set aside.
  9. Add the ramen noodles to the broth and cook according to package instructions.
  10. In the last minute of cooking, add the bean sprouts and baby spinach to the pot.
  11. Once the noodles are cooked, return the prawns to the pot.
  12. Stir in the sliced green onions.
  13. Serve hot in bowls, dividing the prawns and vegetables evenly.

Notes

  • Enhance the broth by adding fish sauce or miso paste.
  • Customize with additional vegetables like bell peppers or bok choy.
