Ingredients

  • 6 g shrimp, peeled (medium-sized 26/30 shrimp)
  • 5 ml smoked paprika
  • 5 ml chili powder
  • 45 ml lime juice, freshly squeezed
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 25 ml salt
  • 25 ml pepper
  • 30 ml olive oil
  • 15 ml honey (or substitute pure maple syrup. Omit for low-carb)

Instructions

  1. Gather all the ingredients in a large bowl and mix well to coat the shrimp completely.
  2. Cover the bowl and let the shrimp soak in the marinade for 15 minutes.
  3. Preheat the grill to a high setting and thread the shrimp onto skewers. Make sure the grill reaches a high temperature before placing the shrimp on it.
  4. Cook the shrimp on the grill for 2-3 minutes per side. They are done when they appear opaque and have a pink tint on both sides.
  5. Present with lime wedges on the side.

Notes

  • Consider using chipotle chili powder for a smokier flavor.
  • Brush shrimp with honey or maple syrup for a hint of sweetness and caramelization.
  • Be careful not to overcook the shrimp; they cook quickly and can become rubbery.
