Ingredients
- 6 g shrimp, peeled (medium-sized 26/30 shrimp)
- 5 ml smoked paprika
- 5 ml chili powder
- 45 ml lime juice, freshly squeezed
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 25 ml salt
- 25 ml pepper
- 30 ml olive oil
- 15 ml honey (or substitute pure maple syrup. Omit for low-carb)
Instructions
- Gather all the ingredients in a large bowl and mix well to coat the shrimp completely.
- Cover the bowl and let the shrimp soak in the marinade for 15 minutes.
- Preheat the grill to a high setting and thread the shrimp onto skewers. Make sure the grill reaches a high temperature before placing the shrimp on it.
- Cook the shrimp on the grill for 2-3 minutes per side. They are done when they appear opaque and have a pink tint on both sides.
- Present with lime wedges on the side.
Notes
- Consider using chipotle chili powder for a smokier flavor.
- Brush shrimp with honey or maple syrup for a hint of sweetness and caramelization.
- Be careful not to overcook the shrimp; they cook quickly and can become rubbery.
