Ingredients

  • 450 g prawns, peeled and deveined (1 lb)
  • 225 g udon noodles (8 oz)
  • 30 ml vegetable oil (2 tbsp)
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp (15 ml) ginger, grated
  • 1 red bell pepper, sliced
  • 150 g sugar snap peas (1 cup)
  • 30 ml soy sauce (2 tbsp)
  • 15 ml chili paste (1 tbsp)
  • 15 ml honey (1 tbsp)
  • 15 ml sesame oil (1 tbsp)
  • 2 green onions, sliced
  • 15 ml sesame seeds (1 tbsp)


Instructions

  1. Cook udon noodles according to package instructions, then drain and set aside.
  2. Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large pan over medium-high heat.
  3. Add prawns to the pan and sauté for 2-3 minutes until pink and cooked through. Remove prawns from the pan and set aside.
  4. In the same pan, add the remaining 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil.
  5. Add minced garlic and grated ginger, stir-frying for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  6. Add sliced red bell pepper and sugar snap peas to the pan, stir-frying for 3-4 minutes until tender-crisp.
  7. In a small bowl, mix soy sauce, chili paste, honey, and sesame oil.
  8. Return the prawns to the pan and add the cooked udon noodles.
  9. Pour the sauce mixture over the prawns and noodles, stirring well to coat everything evenly.
  10. Continue stir-frying for another 2-3 minutes until heated through.
  11. Remove from heat and garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds.
  12. Serve immediately.

  • Marinate prawns in soy sauce and ginger for enhanced flavor.
  • Ensure prawns are not overcooked to prevent toughness.
