A simple yet gourmet Chilean sea bass recipe infused with garlic, butter, and fresh herbs, perfect for elevating any dinner experience.
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 pounds Chilean sea bass (4 filets)
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1 teaspoon kosher salt
- 3 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 tablespoon salted butter
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- 1 tablespoon finely chopped fresh thyme or parsley, plus more for serving
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- Lemon wedges, for serving
Instructions
- Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Pat the Chilean sea bass filets dry with paper towels.
- Mix together the garlic powder, paprika, kosher salt, and black pepper in a small bowl.
- Season both sides of each filet with the spice blend.
- Add the olive oil to the hot skillet and swirl to coat the bottom.
- Place the sea bass filets in the pan and sear undisturbed for 4 to 5 minutes.
- Flip the filets, add the salted butter, minced garlic, and chopped herbs to the pan.
- Baste the fish with the melted butter for another 2 to 3 minutes.
- Drizzle lemon juice over the filets and let rest for 1 to 2 minutes.
- Garnish with additional herbs and serve with lemon wedges.
Notes
Serve with roasted vegetables, quinoa, or a light salad. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to two days.
