Ingredients

  • 1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined (450 g)
  • 1 cup lump crab meat (120 g)
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened (225 g)
  • 1 cup shredded moz zarella cheese (115 g)
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese (50 g)
  • 2 green onions, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon (3 ml) salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon (3 ml) black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon (3 ml) paprika
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice (15 ml)
  • 1 tablespoon (15 ml) fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 package puff pastry, thawed
  • 1 egg, beaten for egg wash


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Chop the shrimp into small pieces and place in a bowl.
  3. Add the lump crab meat to the shrimp.
  4. In a separate bowl, combine the cream cheese and mozzarella cheese.
  5. Stir in the Parmesan cheese.
  6. Add the green onions and minced garlic to the cheese mixture.
  7. Season with salt, black pepper, and paprika.
  8. Mix in the lemon juice and fresh parsley until well combined.
  9. Add the shrimp and crab mixture to the cheese mixture.
  10. Stir until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.
  11. Roll out the puff pastry on a floured surface.
  12. Cut the puff pastry into 3-inch (7.5 cm) squares.
  13. Place a spoonful of the seafood mixture in the center of each square.
  14. Fold the corners of the pastry over the filling to form a ball.
  15. Pinch the edges to seal the pastry completely.
  16. Place the formed balls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  17. Brush each pastry ball with the beaten egg wash.
  18. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown.
  19. Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving.
