Description
A vibrant Caribbean dish featuring whole red snapper grilled to perfection with a flavorful spice marinade.
Ingredients
- 1 whole red snapper, cleaned and scaled
- 2 teaspoons ground allspice
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon ginger, grated
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 tablespoon fresh basil, chopped
- 1 tablespoon fresh thyme, chopped
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Juice of 1 lime
- Olive oil for brushing
Instructions
- Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.
- Mix allspice, garlic, ginger, paprika, basil, thyme, salt, pepper, and lime juice with a little olive oil to create a marinade.
- Rub the marinade all over the fish, including inside the cavity.
- Allow the fish to marinate for at least 30 minutes.
- Brush the grill grates with oil to prevent sticking.
- Place the fish on the grill and cook for about 6-8 minutes per side, or until the fish flakes easily with a fork.
- Remove from grill and serve hot.
Notes
For best results, use a meat thermometer to ensure the internal temperature reaches 145°F. Serve with fresh lime wedges.
