Description
A vibrant California roll sushi bowl featuring sticky sushi rice topped with imitation crab, avocado, cucumber, carrots, and green onions, all drizzled with soy sauce.
Ingredients
- 1 cup sushi rice
- 1 1/4 cups water
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 8 ounces imitation crab meat or cooked crab
- 1 avocado, sliced
- 1/2 cucumber, julienned
- 1 carrot, shredded
- 2 green onions, sliced
- Soy sauce, for serving
- Sesame seeds, for garnish
Instructions
- Rinse sushi rice under cold water until the water runs clear.
- In a pot, combine rice and water; bring to a boil. Reduce heat, cover, and simmer for 18-20 minutes.
- Remove from heat and let it sit covered for 10 minutes.
- In a small bowl, mix rice vinegar, sugar, and salt until dissolved. Stir this mixture into the cooked rice and let it cool slightly.
- In serving bowls, layer the sushi rice at the bottom.
- Top with crab, avocado, cucumber, carrot, and green onions.
- Drizzle with soy sauce and sprinkle with sesame seeds before serving.
Notes
Chill ingredients for a refreshing bite. Use a rice cooker for convenience. Try adding edamame or pickled ginger for extra flavor.
