A vibrant dish combining shrimp, potatoes, and sausage with aromatic Cajun seasoning, perfect for family gatherings.
Ingredients
- 1 pound fresh shrimp, shells on
- 2 pounds medium to large potatoes
- 1 pound smoked sausage
- 2 tablespoons Cajun seasoning
- 2 bay leaves
- Juice of 1 lemon
- Water (enough to fill the pot)
Instructions
- Fill a large pot with water, add bay leaves and Cajun seasoning, and bring to a rolling boil.
- Add potatoes and par-cook for 10-15 minutes until tender but firm.
- Add sausage and let it infuse for a few minutes.
- Finally, add the shrimp and cook for 3-5 minutes until they turn pink and firm.
- Once cooked, squeeze fresh lemon juice over the boil and serve hot.
Notes
Avoid overcooking the shrimp to prevent a rubbery texture. Adjust seasoning to taste.
