Description
A simple and delicious recipe featuring tender bok choy sautéed with savory oyster sauce and aromatic garlic.
Ingredients
- 2 pounds bok choy
- 2 tablespoons neutral oil
- 2 tablespoons garlic, minced (about 4 cloves)
- 3 tablespoons oyster sauce
- ¼ teaspoon granulated sugar (optional)
- ¾ cup water
- 5 tablespoons oyster sauce
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- ½ teaspoon granulated sugar (optional)
Instructions
- Heat the oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant, but be careful not to let it brown.
- Introduce the bok choy into the skillet, stirring occasionally, and cook for about 2-3 minutes until it begins to wilt.
- Pour in the ¾ cup of water and add the 3 tablespoons of oyster sauce, along with the ¼ teaspoon of sugar if using. Stir until everything is well combined.
- If you prefer a thin sauce, let it simmer until the bok choy is tender but still bright green.
- For a thicker sauce, mix the 1 tablespoon of cornstarch with a little water to make a slurry. Pour this into the skillet and mix well, allowing it to thicken up for an additional minute.
- Remove from heat and serve immediately. The bok choy should be vibrant and appetizing.
Notes
For best results, choose fresh bok choy and avoid overcrowding the skillet. You can adjust the garlic and oyster sauce amounts to suit your taste.
