Description

A simple yet flavorful blackened salmon recipe featuring Cajun seasoning and a perfect crispy crust.

Ingredients

  • 2 fresh salmon fillets (about 6 oz each)
  • 2 tablespoons Cajun seasoning
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Lemon wedges (for serving)

Instructions

  1. Preheat a cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat until hot.
  2. Pat the salmon fillets dry and coat both sides generously with Cajun seasoning.
  3. Add olive oil to the skillet, ensuring it coats the bottom evenly.
  4. Place the seasoned salmon fillets skin-side down and cook for 4-5 minutes until a dark crust forms.
  5. Flip the fillets carefully and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes until they reach an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C).
  6. Remove from heat, let rest briefly, and serve with lemon wedges.

Notes

Let the salmon rest for a minute after cooking to allow juices to redistribute. Adjust seasoning for preferred spice level.
