Description
A simple yet flavorful blackened salmon recipe featuring Cajun seasoning and a perfect crispy crust.
Ingredients
- 2 fresh salmon fillets (about 6 oz each)
- 2 tablespoons Cajun seasoning
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- Lemon wedges (for serving)
Instructions
- Preheat a cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat until hot.
- Pat the salmon fillets dry and coat both sides generously with Cajun seasoning.
- Add olive oil to the skillet, ensuring it coats the bottom evenly.
- Place the seasoned salmon fillets skin-side down and cook for 4-5 minutes until a dark crust forms.
- Flip the fillets carefully and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes until they reach an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C).
- Remove from heat, let rest briefly, and serve with lemon wedges.
Notes
Let the salmon rest for a minute after cooking to allow juices to redistribute. Adjust seasoning for preferred spice level.
