- 1 tablespoon garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon onion powder
- 1 tablespoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- Juice of 1 lemon
- Fresh lemon wedges (for garnish)
Instructions
- Prepare the blackening spice blend by combining paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, oregano, cayenne pepper, black pepper, and salt in a small bowl.
- Coat each salmon fillet generously with the spice mix, pressing gently to adhere.
- Heat vegetable oil in the skillet over medium-high heat until shimmering.
- Add the seasoned salmon fillets to the skillet skin-side down and cook for about 4-5 minutes.
- Flip the fillets with a spatula, cooking for an additional 3-4 minutes until the salmon is cooked through and has a beautifully charred exterior.
- Meanwhile, in a small saucepan, melt the unsalted butter over low heat. Add honey and lemon juice, whisking until combined.
- Once the salmon is cooked, drizzle the honey lemon butter sauce over each fillet generously before serving.
Notes
For best results, use skin-on salmon fillets and let the salmon rest after cooking to retain moisture.
