Description

Savor a perfect blackened salmon dish with a honey lemon butter sauce, delivering vibrant flavors and a delightful experience.

Ingredients

  • 4 salmon fillets
  • 2 tablespoons paprika
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 1 tablespoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • Fresh lemon wedges (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the blackening spice blend by combining paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, oregano, cayenne pepper, black pepper, and salt in a small bowl.
  2. Coat each salmon fillet generously with the spice mix, pressing gently to adhere.
  3. Heat vegetable oil in the skillet over medium-high heat until shimmering.
  4. Add the seasoned salmon fillets to the skillet skin-side down and cook for about 4-5 minutes.
  5. Flip the fillets with a spatula, cooking for an additional 3-4 minutes until the salmon is cooked through and has a beautifully charred exterior.
  6. Meanwhile, in a small saucepan, melt the unsalted butter over low heat. Add honey and lemon juice, whisking until combined.
  7. Once the salmon is cooked, drizzle the honey lemon butter sauce over each fillet generously before serving.

Notes

For best results, use skin-on salmon fillets and let the salmon rest after cooking to retain moisture.
