Ingredients

  • 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 bell pepper, chopped
  • 2 celery stalks, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can diced tomatoes (14.5 ounces)
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon hot sauce (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon Cajun seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Cooked white rice for serving
  • Chopped parsley for garnish


Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the chopped onion, bell pepper, and celery, sautéing until they soften.
  2. Stir in minced garlic and cook for an additional minute.
  3. Add the diced tomatoes, chicken broth, Worcestershire sauce, hot sauce (if desired), Cajun seasoning, salt, and pepper. Stir everything together.
  4. Bring the mixture to a simmer and let it cook for about 15 minutes.
  5. Incorporate the shrimp and cook until they are pink and opaque, roughly 5-7 minutes.
  6. Dish out the Shrimp Creole over a bed of cooked white rice and garnish with chopped parsley.
