Description
Crispy shrimp tacos with a spicy Bang Bang sauce, topped with fresh slaw and green onions.
Ingredients
- 1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 1 cup cornstarch
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 1/4 cup sweet chili sauce
- 1 tbsp sriracha
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp paprika
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Tortillas, for serving
- Shredded cabbage or slaw, for topping
- Chopped green onions, for garnish
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix the mayonnaise, sweet chili sauce, sriracha, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper to create the Bang Bang sauce. Set aside.
- Dredge the shrimp in cornstarch, then dip them in buttermilk.
- Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat and fry the shrimp until golden brown and crispy.
- Warm the tortillas in a separate pan.
- Assemble the tacos by placing crispy shrimp in the tortillas, drizzling with Bang Bang sauce, and topping with crunchy slaw and green onions.
Notes
For added zest, squeeze fresh lime juice over the tacos before serving. You can also bake the shrimp for a healthier version.
