Description

A coastal-inspired dish featuring crispy shrimp tossed in a creamy and spicy Bang Bang sauce, perfect for entertaining or a cozy dinner.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb shrimp (peeled and deveined)
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup cornstarch
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • Vegetable oil (for frying)
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup sweet chili sauce
  • 1 tbsp Sriracha (optional)
  • 2 tbsp fresh lime juice
  • Green onions (for garnish)
  • Sesame seeds (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix all-purpose flour, cornstarch, baking powder, salt, and black pepper.
  2. In another bowl, whisk together the egg and milk.
  3. Dip each shrimp in the egg mixture, then coat it in the flour mixture.
  4. Heat vegetable oil in a skillet over medium heat and fry the shrimp in batches for 2-3 minutes per side until golden brown.
  5. In a separate bowl, mix mayonnaise, sweet chili sauce, Sriracha (if used), and lime juice to create the Bang Bang sauce.
  6. Toss the cooked shrimp in the sauce until evenly coated.
  7. Serve garnished with green onions and sesame seeds.

Notes

For best results, allow shrimp to rest before tossing in sauce to maintain crispiness. Adjust spice levels in the sauce to your preference.
