Description
A quick and flavorful Bang Bang Salmon dish that takes just 25 minutes to prepare, perfect for any dinner occasion.
Ingredients
- 2 fillets of salmon (halibut or trout can be substituted)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil (or avocado oil for high-heat cooking)
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder (fresh garlic adds extra flavor)
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika (regular paprika works too)
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise (Greek yogurt for a lighter option)
- 1/4 cup sweet chili sauce
- 1-2 tablespoons Sriracha (adjust based on heat tolerance)
- 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup (optional)
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar or lime juice (lemon juice can substitute)
- 2 tablespoons chopped green onions (or cilantro if desired)
- 1 tablespoon sesame seeds for crunch (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (or heat a skillet over medium-high).
- Pat the salmon fillets dry and season with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and smoked paprika.
- Heat olive or avocado oil in your skillet. Sear the salmon skin-side down for 4-5 minutes.
- Gently flip the fillets and transfer your skillet or place salmon onto a baking sheet if baking.
- Bake for about 5-7 minutes until cooked through and flaky.
- While the salmon cooks, prepare the sauce by mixing mayonnaise, sweet chili sauce, Sriracha, honey or maple syrup (if using), and rice vinegar or lime juice in a bowl.
- Once the salmon is ready, drizzle the sauce over the fillets, and sprinkle with chopped green onions and sesame seeds for presentation. Enjoy!
Notes
For minimal mess, use parchment paper on your baking sheet. Adjust Sriracha based on your heat preference.
