Description

A fast and savory salmon dish with a crispy exterior and a zesty Bang Bang sauce, perfect for busy weeknights.

Ingredients

  • 4 fillets salmon (skin-on)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil (high smoke point oil)
  • 1 teaspoon salt (adjust to taste)
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper (freshly ground preferred)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder (substitute fresh garlic if preferred)
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise (or Greek yogurt for a lighter option)
  • 1/4 cup sweet chili sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Sriracha (adjust according to spice preference)
  • 1 tablespoon honey (or maple syrup as a substitute)
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice (fresh preferred)
  • 2 tablespoons green onions (finely chopped)

Instructions

  1. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and add olive oil, allowing it to shimmer.
  2. Season each salmon fillet generously with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and smoked paprika on both sides.
  3. Carefully place the salmon fillets skin-side down into the skillet, cooking without moving them for 4-5 minutes until the skin becomes crispy.
  4. Flip the fillets carefully, cooking for another 3-4 minutes until they are cooked through and flake easily with a fork.
  5. While the salmon cooks, whisk together the mayonnaise (or Greek yogurt), sweet chili sauce, Sriracha, honey, and lime juice until well combined.
  6. Once the salmon is cooked, plate it and drizzle generously with the Bang Bang sauce.
  7. Finish with a sprinkle of chopped green onions for a fresh garnish.

Notes

Experiment with the sauce to adjust the spice level. Serve with toppings like sesame seeds or additional herbs for a personal touch.
