Ingredients
- 4 salmon fillets (6 oz each)
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tbsp honey
- 2 tbsp brown sugar
- 2 tbsp rice vinegar
- 1 tbsp sesame oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1-inch piece of fresh ginger, grated
- 1 tbsp cornstarch (optional, for thickening)
- 1 tbsp water (if using cornstarch)
- 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (optional for a spicy kick)
- 1 tbsp sesame seeds (for garnish)
- 2 green onions, sliced (for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or grease it.
- Place salmon fillets skin-side down on the baking sheet.
- In a saucepan, combine soy sauce, honey, brown sugar, rice vinegar, sesame oil, minced garlic, and grated ginger over medium heat.
- Bring the mixture to a simmer, stirring until sugar dissolves.
- If desired, mix cornstarch with water and add to the sauce to thicken.
- Once thickened, remove from heat and let cool slightly.
- Pour the teriyaki sauce over the salmon, ensuring it is coated evenly.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes or until the salmon flakes easily with a fork.
- Drizzle any remaining sauce over the salmon and garnish with sesame seeds and sliced green onions before serving.
