Description

A delightful and easy-to-prepare dish featuring tilapia fillets topped with a crispy parmesan and panko crust, complemented by zesty lemon and garlic.


Ingredients

  • 4 tilapia fillets (about 6 ounces each)
  • 1/2 cup finely grated parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried parsley
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil (optional)
  • Optional garnish: Lemon wedges, fresh parsley


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and prepare your baking dish by lightly greasing it with olive oil or cooking spray.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine parmesan cheese, panko breadcrumbs, mayonnaise, lemon juice, garlic powder, dried parsley, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined and slightly damp.
  3. Pat the tilapia fillets dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture.
  4. Coat each fillet with the parmesan mixture, pressing gently to ensure it sticks.
  5. Arrange the coated fillets in the baking dish, leaving space between each.
  6. Bake for 12-15 minutes until the fish is flaky and the crust is golden brown.
  7. For extra crispiness, broil for the last 1-2 minutes, watching closely to prevent burning.
  8. Remove from the oven and allow to rest for a couple of minutes before serving. Garnish with lemon wedges and fresh parsley if desired.
