Description

Delicious and elegant baked lobster tails infused with garlic butter and fresh herbs for a perfect seafood dish.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup room temperature unsalted butter
  • 4 (4-5 ounce) lobster tails (thawed if previously frozen)
  • 2 cloves minced garlic
  • 1 teaspoon Kosher salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • Zest of a lemon, plus lemon wedges for serving
  • 2 teaspoons fresh chopped tarragon or parsley

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 425°F and have your buttered baking dish ready.
  2. Using kitchen shears, cut lengthwise through the top of the lobster shell. Carefully pull the shell away from the meat and remove the tail, placing the lobster into the prepared baking dish.
  3. In a small bowl, combine the room temperature butter, minced garlic, Kosher salt, black pepper, and lemon zest. Use a fork to mix these ingredients until well combined.
  4. Drop scant tablespoon-sized mounds of the garlic butter mixture evenly across the lobster tails.
  5. Bake the lobster tails for about 10 minutes, or until the lobster registers 140°F when checked with a meat thermometer.
  6. After removing the lobster from the oven, baste the tails with the melted butter.
  7. Sprinkle the chopped tarragon or parsley over the tops of the lobster tails for a fresh touch.
  8. If desired, continue by serving a side of dipping butter. To do this, place a small sieve over a bowl and pour the excess butter from the baking dish over the sieve, discarding any solids that remain.
  9. Serve the strained butter alongside the lobster tails and enjoy.

Notes

Use fresh herbs for added flavor. Experiment with different herbs to suit your taste.
