Description

Ingredients

  • Tilapia Fillets: 1.5 – 2 lbs (about 4-6 fillets)
  • Fresh Lemons: 2 medium-sized
  • Parmesan Cheese: ½ cup, grated
  • Olive Oil: 3 tablespoons, extra virgin
  • Garlic: 2 cloves, minced
  • Dried Oregano: 1 teaspoon
  • Dried Parsley: 1 teaspoon
  • Salt: ½ teaspoon, or to taste
  • Black Pepper: ¼ teaspoon, freshly ground, or to taste
  • Optional: Breadcrumbs (Panko or Regular): ¼ cup for extra crispy topping


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and prepare a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  2. Zest one lemon and juice it, collecting 2-3 tablespoons of lemon juice. Slice the other lemon into thin rounds.
  3. Rinse and pat dry the tilapia fillets to ensure the parmesan mixture adheres well.
  4. Combine grated parmesan, minced garlic, lemon zest, dried oregano, and dried parsley in a small bowl. In another bowl, whisk together olive oil and lemon juice.
  5. Brush each tilapia fillet with the lemon-olive oil mixture, sprinkle the parmesan mixture on top, and press lightly. Top with lemon slices.
  6. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until the fish flakes easily and is opaque. Broil for an additional 1-2 minutes for a golden crust.
  7. Let the tilapia rest briefly before serving.

Notes

For extra crispiness, consider adding panko breadcrumbs to the cheese mixture. Always ensure the fish is dried completely before adding any toppings.
