Description

A perfectly balanced and flavorful dish combining baked cod and a fresh lemon-dill sauce.

Ingredients

  • 4 cod fillets (about 6 oz each)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt, to taste
  • Pepper, to taste
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika (optional)
  • Lemon slices (for garnish)
  • 1/3 cup plain Greek yogurt or sour cream
  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise (optional, for a creamier texture)
  • 1 tablespoon fresh dill, finely chopped (or 1 teaspoon dried dill)
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice (freshly squeezed)
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 small garlic clove, minced (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Pat the cod fillets dry with paper towels and season with olive oil, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and optional paprika.
  3. Arrange the seasoned fillets on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  4. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the fish flakes easily with a fork and appears opaque.
  5. While the cod bakes, prepare the lemon-dill sauce by combining Greek yogurt or sour cream, optional mayonnaise, fresh dill, lemon juice, lemon zest, Dijon mustard, and minced garlic in a mixing bowl. Stir until well blended and season to taste with salt and pepper.
  6. Once the cod is cooked, serve garnished with lemon slices and a generous dollop of lemon-dill sauce.

Notes

For best results, choose fresh cod fillets and monitor cooking time closely. Store leftovers in airtight containers.
