Description
A perfectly balanced and flavorful dish combining baked cod and a fresh lemon-dill sauce.
Ingredients
- 4 cod fillets (about 6 oz each)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- Salt, to taste
- Pepper, to taste
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika (optional)
- Lemon slices (for garnish)
- 1/3 cup plain Greek yogurt or sour cream
- 2 tablespoons mayonnaise (optional, for a creamier texture)
- 1 tablespoon fresh dill, finely chopped (or 1 teaspoon dried dill)
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice (freshly squeezed)
- 1 teaspoon lemon zest
- 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
- 1 small garlic clove, minced (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Pat the cod fillets dry with paper towels and season with olive oil, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and optional paprika.
- Arrange the seasoned fillets on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the fish flakes easily with a fork and appears opaque.
- While the cod bakes, prepare the lemon-dill sauce by combining Greek yogurt or sour cream, optional mayonnaise, fresh dill, lemon juice, lemon zest, Dijon mustard, and minced garlic in a mixing bowl. Stir until well blended and season to taste with salt and pepper.
- Once the cod is cooked, serve garnished with lemon slices and a generous dollop of lemon-dill sauce.
Notes
For best results, choose fresh cod fillets and monitor cooking time closely. Store leftovers in airtight containers.
