Delicious air fryer sticky salmon bowls with a blend of savory ingredients, perfect for family dinners.
Ingredients
- 1.5 lbs salmon filets, skin removed and cut into 1-inch cubes
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce (or tamari/coconut aminos)
- 2 teaspoons toasted sesame oil
- 1 tablespoon grated garlic
- 1 tablespoon grated ginger
- 1 tablespoon maple syrup (or honey)
- Salt to taste
- 3 cups cooked sushi rice
- 1.5 cups sliced cucumbers
- 1 diced avocado
- 3 chopped scallions
- 2 tablespoons toasted sesame seeds
- 1/3 cup plain Greek yogurt
- 2 tablespoons mayo
- 1 tablespoon Sriracha hot sauce (adjust to taste)
- 1 tablespoon hot honey (or regular honey)
- Water (to thin sauce)
Instructions
- Place the salmon cubes in a mixing bowl.
- Add in the soy sauce, toasted sesame oil, grated garlic, grated ginger, maple syrup, and salt.
- Toss the salmon pieces in the marinade until fully coated. Let it marinate for at least 15-30 minutes.
- In a separate bowl, mix the spicy sauce: Combine Greek yogurt, mayo, Sriracha, hot honey, and toasted sesame oil. Add water if needed to thin the sauce.
- Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (about 200°C) for 5 minutes.
- Lightly spray the air fryer basket with oil and place the marinated salmon cubes in the basket.
- Cook the salmon for about 8-10 minutes, checking for doneness.
- Prepare your bowls with 3 cups of cooked sushi rice for each serving.
- Add sliced cucumbers, diced avocado, and portions of salmon.
- Drizzle with the spicy sauce and sprinkle with chopped scallions and toasted sesame seeds.
- Serve immediately and enjoy!
