Description

Discover how to make delicious Air Fryer Bang Bang Shrimp with this easy recipe. Crispy shrimp coated in a spicy sauce, perfect for a quick and tasty meal.

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup (30 g) cornstarch
  • 1 large egg white
  • 1 1/2 cups (90 g) breadcrumbs
  • 1 lb. (454 g) medium-sized raw shrimp, deveined, tails off
  • cooking spray or vegetable oil
  • 1/2 cup (120 g) mayonnaise
  • 2 tbsps. (30 g) sweet chili sauce
  • 2 tsps. (10 g) hot sauce (less or more to taste)
  • sliced green onion for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Arrange the cornstarch, egg white, and breadcrumbs each into their own shallow dish.
  2. Dust the shrimp with cornstarch and place them on parchment or a plate.
  3. Submerge each shrimp in egg white, then firmly press both sides into the breadcrumbs to coat them evenly.
  4. Lay the shrimp in the air fryer basket in a single layer, ensuring they aren’t touching one another.
  5. Spritz or brush the tops lightly with cooking spray or vegetable oil.
  6. Cook in the air fryer at 350°F (175°C) for 5 minutes.
  7. Turn the shrimp over, spritz or brush the other side, and continue air frying for an additional 2 minutes until they’re a golden color.
  8. As the shrimp cook, combine the mayonnaise, sweet chili sauce, and hot sauce in a large bowl by whisking them together.
  9. After cooking, toss the shrimp in the sauce until they’re thoroughly coated.
  10. Serve right away, garnished with green onion if desired.

Notes

  • Press the breadcrumbs firmly onto each shrimp before air frying for a crispier coating.
  • Adjust the amount of hot sauce to your desired level of spiciness in the sauce.
  • Add a squeeze of fresh lime juice to the sauce for a burst of citrus flavor.
