Learn how to make delicious 20 Minute Garlic Butter Salmon at home with this easy recipe. Perfect for a quick and flavorful weeknight dinner.
Ingredients
- 4 salmon fillets, about 113 g each (4 ounces each)
- 2 tablespoons (30 ml) vegetable oil
- 1 lemon, zested & juiced (more for garnish)
- 4-5 garlic cloves, minced
- 1/2 teaspoon (3 ml) salt
- 1/4 teaspoon (1 ml) pepper
- 2 tablespoons (30 ml) fresh parsley, chopped
Instructions
- Set your oven to 400°F (200°C) to preheat. Lay down a piece of aluminum foil on a baking tray. Arrange the salmon pieces in the center of the tray, positioning them so that the skin side is resting against the foil.
- In a medium bowl, mix together the melted butter, lemon zest and juice, minced garlic, salt, pepper, and chopped parsley until well combined.
- Evenly coat the tops of the salmon fillets with the prepared mixture. Fold the foil around the salmon to form a sealed packet. Place in the preheated oven and cook for 12-15 minutes, adjusting the time as needed based on the thickness of the fillets.
- Take the salmon out of the oven and use a fork to gently check if the salmon is tender and flakes easily.
- Present with lemon wedges for serving.
Notes
- Marinate salmon fillets in lemon-garlic mixture for 30 minutes before cooking for added flavor.
- Check salmon for doneness by gently flaking with a fork – should be opaque and easily flake apart.
- Sprinkle extra chopped parsley on cooked salmon for a burst of freshness, and squeeze lemon juice before serving for enhanced citrus flavor.
