Description

Learn how to make delicious 20 Minute Garlic Butter Salmon at home with this easy recipe. Perfect for a quick and flavorful weeknight dinner.

Ingredients

  • 4 salmon fillets, about 113 g each (4 ounces each)
  • 2 tablespoons (30 ml) vegetable oil
  • 1 lemon, zested & juiced (more for garnish)
  • 4-5 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon (3 ml) salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon (1 ml) pepper
  • 2 tablespoons (30 ml) fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions

  1. Set your oven to 400°F (200°C) to preheat. Lay down a piece of aluminum foil on a baking tray. Arrange the salmon pieces in the center of the tray, positioning them so that the skin side is resting against the foil.
  2. In a medium bowl, mix together the melted butter, lemon zest and juice, minced garlic, salt, pepper, and chopped parsley until well combined.
  3. Evenly coat the tops of the salmon fillets with the prepared mixture. Fold the foil around the salmon to form a sealed packet. Place in the preheated oven and cook for 12-15 minutes, adjusting the time as needed based on the thickness of the fillets.
  4. Take the salmon out of the oven and use a fork to gently check if the salmon is tender and flakes easily.
  5. Present with lemon wedges for serving.

Notes

  • Marinate salmon fillets in lemon-garlic mixture for 30 minutes before cooking for added flavor.
  • Check salmon for doneness by gently flaking with a fork – should be opaque and easily flake apart.
  • Sprinkle extra chopped parsley on cooked salmon for a burst of freshness, and squeeze lemon juice before serving for enhanced citrus flavor.
