  • – 1 tbsp (15 ml) ginger paste or grated ginger
  • – 4 tbsp (60 ml) honey
  • – 1/4 tsp (1 ml) chili flakes, optional
  • – 2 green onions, for garnish


Instructions

  1. In a medium mixing bowl, blend the soy sauce with cornstarch, then incorporate the shrimp, ensuring they are well-coated. Allow them to rest until ready for use. (This technique, known as “velveting” in Chinese cuisine, helps to keep tender proteins like shrimp and chicken moist during cooking.)
  2. Warm the vegetable oil in a non-stick skillet and sauté the minced garlic with ginger for a maximum of 30 seconds on medium heat. Add the shrimp and cook for 1-2 minutes per side, based on their size.
